Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
LongRoad is an iPhone app for tracking fuel, service, reminders and costs for your vehicles. It is made by SPK Solutions LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and this website.
The short version: your vehicle records stay on your iPhone. We don't have an account system or a server that stores them, and we don't use analytics, advertising or tracking.
Information you enter in the app
Vehicles, fill-ups, charging sessions, services, expenses, budgets, reminders and notes are stored only on your device, inside LongRoad's private storage. They are not sent to us, and we can't see them.
If you have iCloud Backup or computer backups turned on, iOS may include LongRoad's data in those backups. Those backups are managed by Apple or by you, under Apple's privacy policy, not by us.
Camera and photos
If you scan a pump display, LongRoad uses your camera or a photo you choose to read the numbers. The text is recognized on your device. The photo is not uploaded and is not kept after the scan.
Features that connect to the internet
- VIN lookup. When you ask LongRoad to decode a VIN, the VIN alone is sent to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public vPIC service to get the make, model and year. Nothing else about you is sent. NHTSA's handling of that request is covered by its own privacy policy.
- Reference data. The app may download public data, such as national average fuel prices, for comparisons. These requests don't include your records.
Like any internet request, these reach the service with your device's IP address. We don't receive or store them.
Notifications
Service reminders are scheduled on your iPhone as local notifications. No reminder information is sent to us or to a push notification server.
Exports and backups you create
When you export your data, the file goes wherever you choose to save or send it, such as Files, iCloud Drive or email. What happens to it after that is up to you and the service you choose.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No analytics, advertising or third-party tracking SDKs
- No selling or sharing of personal information
- No location tracking
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These don't contain your vehicle records. You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to respond and to improve the app, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
This website
This website has no cookies, analytics or tracking. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Deleting your information
You can delete any record or vehicle in the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPhone. To have us delete emails you've sent us, contact us at the address below.
Children
LongRoad is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change affects how your data is handled, such as adding an optional cloud backup, we'll explain it in the app before it applies to you.
